Something Happened

...recently that made me so glad for the neighbors I have and I feel led to share that with you.

A couple near here got into a dreaded fight during the night, which lasted the entire night. Throwing everything they own into the streets, noises all night disturbing other neighbors, beating the walls in...terrible. The neighbors of this couple where terrified, angry, and so upset to be living by this new family that recently moved in by them. It made everyone around them feel so bad.

Skipping all the other details, it just made me so grateful to have come this far in my Christian life and to have the neighbors that I do, God blessed me with these people. They are quiet, good people who care about each other and see to each others needs.

When I was ill recently with pneumonia and in bed for 10 days with a fever and all other symptoms, my neighbors took turns coming over at least twice a day just checking on me. They came with drinks in hand (bless their hearts) to make sure I was getting plenty of liquids and checking my fever, asking questions about my condition just, continually checking on me. And my daughter M came here hourly to bring me lime sherbet (yum!) making sure I was OK. They cared that I was ill, they wanted me to get better because they love me as I love them.

After that night and hearing all the details I couldn't wait to see all my neighbors and I walked right up to them and told them all how thankful I am for them and that God truly blessed me with them, I just couldn't help myself!

It was another opportunity to share God's name with them, it was a heartfelt "thank you" and I wanted them to know how important they are to me -
again, Thank You Father, thank You for M, G, B, P, M, R, R, V, L, and Z, P, J - phew! all of them. Amen

I can't help myself now also saying how grateful I am for each of you here at this blog site. How gracious you all are when you respond to my posts and how grateful I am to know that someone is hearing my message from God. How blessed I feel when I see a response from any of you. You are my cyber-world neighbors and you are important to me, thank you.

There was a time in my life when I didn't want anything to do with any neighbors wherever I lived, didn't even know their names but, God has changed my heart forever. He has taught me about caring and loving, through hardships, loneliness and example by others. And man! am I reaping the rewards and loving it.

(I still believe: People don't just happen into your life for no reason. Pay attention! Be a good friend and you will have good friends.

Proverbs 18:24
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.)
