How blessed am I?

It would take too many pages to answer that but what brought it to mind is my just finishing a conversation on the phone with an old friend.

One of the girls we (my sisters and I) grew up with as a neighbor, and I just hung up from an hour long conversation on the phone. It was great to catch up again, we do this every couple months. What I was thinking was how nice it is to be able to talk about your life with someone with whom you have shared it.

After all these years I am still in touch with Dale, Carol, Annette, Mae Dean and a few others from High School and church even.

D, C and A, I have known for approximately 49 years and MD for 38 years. We can actually remember each others child hood and youthful romances, each of our parents and other siblings, the trouble we got into and the fights, plus the making up as friends. It's nice to just keep the story going - unlike with new acquaintances. I find it comforting.

Thank you Lord that we are all still here, still care about each others lives and still love each other. Yep, every conversation ends with a sincere "I love you".

Through all these years, marriages and divorces, child birth, grandchildren, jobs, locations, we still care and are there for each other. You are so good Father to provide that - so loving and so Great to have shown us how to love and appreciate, to have built this little group and allowed us to have it.

People don't just happen into your life for no reason. Pay attention! Be a good friend and you will have good friends.

Proverbs 18:24
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

  1. Shared memories--both the joys and the heartaches--are the BEST memories, for sure. Tell them all hello for me, please.

    Blessings,

  2. How great to keep in touch after all these years. There are so many people I have totally lost touch with over the years.

  3. And so...we are given the Lord's Table, "This do in remembrance of Me."
