Keep on Being Human

Psalm 18:2The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Lord there are trying times in our lives, times when we hurt and suffer, when we don't know which way to turn or what direction to head in. It's only human to have emotions and to not always be able to control them.

It's so difficult to smile when times aren't good - it feels impossible some days. Yet Always when we reach out to You, You are there. Always when we need, You supply. And still our emotions can get the best of us. I've wondered sometimes why You gave us emotions!

I've thought about it and prayed about it and then imagined the world if we were without any. Pretty bleak, bland and the picture I have is "why even be born if without emotions". You wanted us to be able to love You, to cry to You and to smile with You. You wanted us to come to You with our joy and our fears and tears baring our very soul, that's the way I see it. I don't see how one could have a soul without emotions, yep that's the way I see it anyway.

I guess we will just have to keep on being human (LOL) as You will keep on being King. King of our souls, our love and our tears. Yes the world would be pretty bleak without our emotions and our destinies would be even more bleak.

Thank You Father for my crazy, human, out of control emotions.

I love You Lord - My Rock! Amen

  1. Remember Spock on Star Trek? No emotions. But even Spock was occasionally overcome by curiosity about those emotional earthlings.

God, you made us for relationships. That's why we have emotions. Emotions enable us to relate to each other and to you. You don't need a relationship with us. You are totally, completely sufficient in yourself.

But you desire a relationship with us. You want us to reciprocate your love by loving you with all our hearts, all our souls, all our strength, all our minds. And you want us to reciprocate by loving each other.

Thank you for all the crazy, confusing, painful, joyous relationships in my life and the emotions to experience them.

    I Love you, Miawa.

    Jean
