Track record - "A past record taken as a likelihood of all future records"
The sermon I heard Sunday was about just that, about God's track record and how that should make it so simple and easy to trust Him. His track record is without error. As the sermon went on my mind kept wandering, all I could think about was my track record.
He talked about 'hope' "which comes from remembering God's track record in your life" as well as trust. The book of Samuel was his referenced scripture and the story of David and Goliath. If little tiny David had enough hope and trust to face with all the faith in the world, the great 9 foot giant Goliath we should be able to face every days trials completely trusting him and His track record. David never thought twice about his simple slingshot and 5 shiny stones not being enough. He knew without hesitation that his real rock was God and he knew that because of God's track record.
OK where my mind kept wandering was - Oh Praise You Lord Jesus that you keep no track record on us – I am rocked at the thought of what my life's record is. Lord you would never have any reason to forgive me or give me another chance if you kept a track record of us. There would be no reason for You to use me or give me any responsibility at all or trust me to take on any task for You!
All I could think of was Praise Jesus and thank You Father for not keeping score! Amen and as my sister J says, praise-a-leuah!
Romans 4:7 BLESSED IS THE MAN TO WHOM THE LORD WILL NOT IMPUTE SIN
(Impute: v to attribute something as a mistake to another, to charge)
That would be me, the forgiven sinner, the saved!
