I Can Remember

I can remember when I was younger hating Monday mornings. It meant the weekend was over, the fun time ended, getting the kids up through a dredging week of school, the work week on a job I hated, all of that. But now it's different.

Monday mornings feel refreshing and clean. It's a new start to the week, eagerness and anticipation are the words now. I suppose age has something to do with that but it's also release from a lot of responsibilities don't you think?

This morning I got up with my youngest grandson N as he tip toed into my room, sneakily checking to see if I was up yet. As if he didn't know that would waken me (ha, ha!). I got up, fixed him some oatmeal and hot chocolate as we moved breakfast out to the patio table and relished at the coolness of the fall air with the sunrise. It was even more beautiful today with N there in the calmness and quiet. The neighborhood was not stirring yet and we were at peace with our Cinnamon Roll flavored Oatmeal.

Yesterday we worked all day in the yard, cleaning, building, and replacing. It was a lot of hard work, for us, as you can see from the picture he worked very hard at sprinkling the lawn (uh-hum!)

The biggest reason that Monday's are different for me at this time in my life is because God has placed that change in me, all the other things add into it, but His presence in my life is definitely the reason. I am so grateful that I see the day's differently as I peer out into nature or into someone's eyes - stranger or loved one, and see Him in everything He lays before my eyes and as He whispers to me.

Tiny Steps, that has been my life for the last ten years, God's complete and full support of me as I stagger through daily life and learned to lean on Him, to trust Him and learned that He truly is "All". Every movement the world makes, every breath we take, every step of the way - He is there, He is Life itself. The choices we make with Him to guide us and the mistakes we make with Him to help us, God is simply "All". The 'moments' that fray us and pain us, are His and He is our guide through those difficult choices. The joy and love is His.

Now I know that, and now Monday's are sweet. Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior? Please, don't delay accept Him today - today is a good day for that!

Psalm 104:34
My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.

  1. One day at a time, tiny steps, looking to God for answers and guidance really can make a difference in your outlook on life. But I have to say I would like Monday's more if I didn't have to get up and go to work :)
